LBC Cheerleading is open for all girls who will be in grades 3rd thru 8th in the fall 2014.

-Learn cheer and stunting skills from an experienced coach!
-Cheer for our football teams while building friendships and learning teamwork!

The objective of the LBC cheerleading program is to teach the fundamentals and skills of cheerleading - and to develop teamwork, friendship, respect, cooperation and character in a safe and recreational atmosphere. No prior experience or prerequisites are necessary to join the program.   There are no try-outs.  Everyone makes the team!

The Cheer program is broken into squads that cheer for the Libertyville Boys Club football teams.  The number of teams and who we cheer for depends on the number of cheerleaders we have.  Squads practice twice each week at an indoor facility in the area.  We cheer for all regular home games and the playoff games whether home or away.  Home games are usually played Saturdays and playoff games can be played either on Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon.  Games start at the beginning of September and playoffs can last (if we do well!) through the first or second weekend of November.  The parents and the participants must be willing to travel as the schedule necessitates.

Besides games we also participate in fun events like the Libertyville Days Parade, the LBC Opening Ceremonies, Libertyville High School Football LBC Night and the Libertyville High School Homecoming Parade.  Based on scheduling we may also cheer at special park district events and LBC events.

Our first day of practice will be in the middle of August.  Immediately after the first practice (about 5:30) we will have a mandatory parent’s meeting where we will pass out an information packet with a code of conduct and other information pertinent to our program.  Practices will be every Monday and Wednesday 4:30 to 6:00 starting that first week.  To maximize our gym time we may hold non mandatory sideline cheering clinics to be announced later.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email us in the meantime!

The LBC will supply each cheerleader with a practice t-shirt and cheer bow that the cheerleader may keep at the end of the season!  Each cheerleader will be provided a skirt, vest and jacket that must be returned to the LBC at the end of the season. Each cheerleaders will be required to provide the LBC with a uniform deposit in the form of a check that will held by the LBC and returned upon LBC’s receipt of the uniform at the end of the season.

Each cheerleader will need white gym shoes (keep the stripes to the minimum), short white socks, a black body suit w/ short mock turtleneck, black spankies, and matching cheer pants.  We will make arrangements with a local supplier soon so you can purchase the pants and give you some ideas where to find the body suit and spankies.  Most have a Wildcat sports bag for purchase as well, but this is optional.

GENERAL INFORMATION
To be eligible to participate, you must be entering grades 3rd thru 8th in the Fall of 2014.  The LBC reserves the right to disqualify an applicant from participation in the program.  Cheerleaders that miss one unexcused practice or game will be ineligible to participate in the halftime performance for that week’s or next week’s game. Cheerleaders are expected to be at practice on time and ready to cheer. Arrangements should be made to pick up cheerleaders promptly after practice.   Cheerleaders are required to be at the field at least 30-60 minutes prior to game time as set by the coach. This time will be used to review the halftime performance as well as any new cheers taught during the week.  All LBC participants are subject to the LBC Policies and all cheer parents must adhere to the LBC volunteer policies; see LBC website for details.
